# Eyeshadow palette maker

Design your own eyeshadow palette: choose the layout, pick each shade’s color and finish, name it, then download the palette as an image. Nothing leaves your browser.

## How to design your palette

The page opens with an original 12-pan sample, so you can start by changing it. Select a pan in the preview (click, tap, or Tab to it) and edit it on the right: give it a name, choose a color with the picker, a hex code such as #B2643A or one of the quick colors, then pick a finish.

- **Matte** has no shine; **satin** has a soft sheen; **shimmer** adds fine sparkle across the pan.
- **Metallic** looks like foil, with a bright highlight and darker edges; **glitter** shows separate flecks that flash as the light moves. For glitter, the second color sets the fleck color.
- **Duochrome** has two colors: the base, and the shift color that shows where the light hits.

Move the **light angle** slider, or move your pointer over the palette, to see how each finish catches the light. To reorder, drag one pan onto another to swap them, use the Move earlier and Move later buttons, or hold Shift and press an arrow key on a selected pan. Changing the number of pans keeps your shades; new pans start as neutrals.

**Example:** for a quick everyday quad, choose 4 square pans, then set a pale satin for the brow bone, a mid matte brown for the crease, a shimmer bronze for the lid and a deep matte brown for the outer corner and lash line.

Download PNG saves a sharp image of the palette; Copy shade list gives you names, hex codes and finishes as text. Save palette keeps it in this browser, and Export all writes a backup file you can import later.

## Questions

**Why does the color on screen look different from real eyeshadow?**

Screens differ in brightness and color settings, and real eyeshadow changes with the light, the formula and the skin it sits on. A shimmer can look lighter on the lid than in the pan, and a sheer matte can look softer. Use the preview to plan colors and arrangements, then swatch real products before you buy.

**What is the difference between shimmer, metallic and glitter?**

All three reflect light. Shimmer has fine particles spread through the powder, so the whole shade glows. Metallic is denser and smoother, with a foil-like highlight and darker edges. Glitter has larger, separate flecks that sparkle one by one, usually on a satin or shimmer base.

**What does duochrome mean?**

A duochrome shows two colors depending on the angle you look from: for example a plum base that flashes green where the light hits. In the maker you choose both the base color and the shift color, and the light angle slider shows the shift moving.

**How should I arrange shades in a palette?**

There is no rule, but a common layout runs from light to dark, or groups the shades you use together: a pale shade for the brow bone, mid tones for the crease, a lid shade and a deep shade for the outer corner and lash line. Mixing mattes and shimmers in each group makes the palette easier to use.

**Where are my saved palettes kept?**

Only in this browser’s local storage on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so use Export all to save a backup file, and Import file to load it again here or on another device.

**Can I turn my design into a real palette?**

Yes, if you build one from single refill pans. Open “Fit real pans in an empty palette” to work out the inside size an empty magnetic palette needs for your layout, in millimetres or inches. Petal Glimmer does not sell or recommend products.
